Acne is one of the most common skin conditions we treat, and it develops when the skin’s oil (sebaceous) glands produce more oil than the skin can clear. That excess oil combines with dead skin cells and bacteria to block pores, which leads to the inflammation behind blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and deeper cysts.
While acne most often shows up on the face, it is just as common on the back, chest and shoulders. Left untreated, inflamed breakouts can lead to permanent scarring, so our physicians and mid-level providers build a treatment plan aimed at both clearing active acne and protecting the skin long term.
